My brothers trophy is bigger than me

The weather is starting to get wet now and Dayton just picked up two second place trophies this weekend at the Peninsula Indoor BMX track.
On Saturday night he fought hard to win 2nd place in all three motos. And on Sunday morning he won 3rd, 1st, and 2nd place to finish up 2nd in points.
This is the first time he is racing indoor and his first time on his race bike.
In a post-race interview Dayton said "I enjoy kicking people in the butt".
He also says that he loves his little brother.

First chilly morning.

The weather has turned and it is now starting to feel like the Northwest we were expecting when we moved up here. There is a big front rolling in from the Pacific that promises some rain that we are more than ready for.
The odd shaped shadow on the right of the picture is Carson in his stroller.

The Maple tree in our yard was dropped earlier this week and the boys have had a blast playing on the digger after the contractors have gone home at night.

Here comes the bus.

We live about a mile from the school and Dayton gets to ride a bus.
Yes, a real yellow school bus.

Dayton's first day of school.

The day before Dayton would start school we found a Kite at the beach. He was not in a mood that would at all entertain any of dads crazy picture ideas..so the best we could do for a 'first day of school picture' was a picture with the kite.

4th of July

Kathi and Bob came to visit for 4th of July and we took them with us to celebrate with some people from Allyson's new job. Mark and Liz's house in Fauntleroy is right on the beach so we barbecued and let off fireworks with them.

"Dad, Why do blind people lay down in the Mud"

Dayton had been asking me why blind people need to lay down in the mud for quite a while. I couldn't make any sense of it until he also asked " Why do they need to lay down in Mud and put Cucumbers on their eyes"
Dayton practicing his sliding into home-plate technique on dirt covered cardboard in the front-yard.
Carson is pretty much fearless. Dad got in so much trouble when Mom saw this picture.
Pt Robinson Sandcastles with Todd.
Todd was visiting from California and spotted this deer that got whacked by the side of the road.

Carson and Puppy were a little bit surprised that they could get wet.
Look close enough and you can see that Dayton had just learnt how to skip stones across the water.
Dayton invited himself to a water pistol fight at Donut Beach
